Meet the Prairie Allergy Team

Brynn Everist, MD

Board-Certified Allergist & Clinical Immunologist

I am a Kansas City native, but my educational journey has allowed me to live in many other parts of the country as well. I majored in Theology and Pre-Med at Boston College before returning to Kansas City for medical school at The University of Kansas. After completing residency in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, I spent a year working in San Francisco (while my husband completed a fellowship at UCSF), and finally back again to Kansas City.

As a pediatrician I worked at Turner House/Vibrant Health in Kansas City, Kansas for several years, then returned to KU for a fellowship in Allergy/Immunology. Though it was hard to go “back to school” again, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

I was trained and believe in the most current evidence-based medicine, and to stay updated I am an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). I also am invested in my Allergy community here in Kansas City as a board member of the Greater Kansas City Allergy Society.

Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family most of all! My husband  is a musculoskeletal radiologist at KUMC and we have three school-aged children (as well as a dog, a cat, and a leopard gecko!). When not engaged in family or work, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including running, cooking, traveling, entertaining at home, sewing, and gardening.

I look forward to meeting you!

Julie Knoche, PA-C

Physician Assistant

As I grew up in Kansas City, I developed a love for medicine right away.  I started my career by getting my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Pittsburg State University.  I worked as an RN at St. Luke’s Hospital in cardio-thoracic surgery.  I also spent some time as an RN in the Army Reserves.

Wichita State University became home for the next couple of years as I studied to become a physician assistant.

Upon earning my PA degree, I spent 10 years working in the Family Practice clinic and 20 years in the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology clinic at College Park Family Care Center. This is where my passion lies.

At home, I enjoy spending time with my husband, 3 adult kids, my daughter-in-law, and our dog, Winnie.  Walking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends are my favorite activities.

I am so excited to get to know you and to help you with all of your allergy needs!
